The second animation of the 'In the Shadow of Leaves' series, consisting of short theatrical productions based on the teachings of Hagakure, the Book of the Samurai by Yamamoto Tsunetomo.
The series deals with many of the samurai's beliefs and ideals on how to live a good life and how to treat those around you, but updated to be relevant to modern times and issues.
The animation is styled in the mode of shadow puppet theatre, keeping the authenticity of the traditional art form alive while also utilising modern digital technology to enhance the performance. 17th and 18th century Japanese wood block print imagery is also used to create a truly oriental experience and ambiance throughout.

BUSHIDO
Estos son los siete principios que rigen el código de Bushido. Estos principios basados en la filosofía a de Lao Tse y en los cuales se funda el primer emperador para la unificación china. Existe en china un lugar donde estas siete palabras están sostenidas en una serie de arcos consecutivos de tamaño considerable, bajo los cuales se pasa andando y que tienen su correspondiente leyenda.
Cuando alguien comenta algo sobre el Bushido, a todo el mundo le viene a la cabeza un samurai de rodillas suicidándose clavándose una espada en el estómago. Esta definición es una muy pequeña parte del significado completo, y se refiere simplemente a “Seppuku” o forma de suicidio del samurái . Bushido es mucho más amplio y se podría definir a grandes rasgos como el código moral de la clase samurai. Este código se basa en la lealtad, pureza, modestia, austeridad, espíritu guerrero, honor, dedicación etc.
